Everything happens for a reason. That was the theme when I met the Reasons, Ben and Erin, on their goat farm outside of Rochester, Indiana. The couple had a lot of fenced acreage for their goats, complete with rolling, grassy hills and old outbuildings. I immediately saw immense potential for their session. We started by incorporating their two dogs, one of which is Ben's K9 police dog. When we began to work with the dogs, I told Erin and Ben that I would help guide them into their poses. Ben responded with, "Okay, but maybe just pose us without actually touching us." Word to the wise: a K9 dog doesn't like when you touch their trainer! After that comment, I simply laughed, took just a couple steps back, and began to direct with my hands. It worked well, and the dogs and their humans did amazing.
After Ben put the dogs up, we released the goats and began shooting in the pasture. I have to say this is my first time working with goats as props, and it was both hilarious and spectacular at the same time. I had such a great time with this couple, and I think it shows in their photos. Ben and Erin are such a sweet couple and very friendly. Enjoy this peek into their session.
