I arrived to the Straeter home alongside my shooting partner for the day, Shalena Rude with Shalena's Photography. We were so excited to be taking on this gorgeous backyard wedding together. We knew staying on the same page would have its challenges, but the amount we would learn from each other was going to be invaluable, not to mention the fun we would have as well! We knocked on the back door to be greeted by a bridesmaid peeking cautiously around the frame. "Oh, it's you guys! We thought it was Jesse," she said laughing, taking her job of guarding the bride and groom's first look very seriously.
After the bride and all her maids were dressed and looking gorgeous, we headed out to the surrounding grounds to take some shots before the wedding began. What a gorgeous location for a wedding! The well-groomed yard and flower-filled landscaping made for some beautiful backdrops. After concluding our photos around the home, I hustled to the ceremony site on the other end of the grounds. The overcast sky and impending rain threw a gorgeous glow over the pond and gazebo where the couple would soon be saying their vows.
After a lovely backyard ceremony surrounded by family and friends, Jesse and Alycia ended with a kiss just as the rain began to sprinkle down. "Everyone grab your chair and head for the tent!" Alycia yelled as the couple made their way down the aisle as husband and wife. Once the party started, Jesse and Alycia let loose and celebrated the start of their new life together.
I had such an amazing time getting to know this duo, and was pleased to capture such a sweet wedding! Enjoy meeting Mr. & Mrs. Straeter...
